Barn Hand
Do you enjoy working with horses and don’t mind getting your boots dirty? As a Barn Hand at Emmanuel Pines, you’ll help care for our horses and maintain the ranch so guests can safely experience one of the camp’s favorite activities. Every day brings something different, and your work helps create memorable experiences for campers and retreat guests.
What You’ll Do
- Feed, water, and care for horses
- Clean stalls and maintain a healthy barn environment
- Maintain fences, corrals, and pastures
- Assist with equine activities as needed
- Monitor horses for health and safety concerns
- Help keep the barn organized and welcoming
What We’re Looking For
- Experience handling horses
- Dependable and self-motivated
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons
- Able to work independently while supporting the team
- Positive attitude and servant’s heart
Schedule & Physical Requirements
- Weekend availability required
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work on your feet for extended periods
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions

Weekend Handyman / Engineering
Do you enjoy fixing things and solving problems? As part of our Engineering team, you’ll help keep Emmanuel Pines running smoothly by maintaining buildings, equipment, and grounds so guests can focus on what matters most – their time at camp.
What You’ll Do
- Complete general maintenance and repairs
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work
- Respond to maintenance requests
- Assist with preventative maintenance projects
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming campus
- Troubleshoot facility issues as they arise
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in general maintenance, construction, or a related trade
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Dependable with attention to detail
- Able to work independently
Schedule & Physical Requirements
- Weekend availability
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work both indoors and outdoors
